In 1983, the Westside Dance School adopted a new name and officially became knows as the P.R.C.U.A. Wieliczka Dancers. The name Wieliczka represents the beautiful and oldest salt mines in Poland. Salt is considered a very important substance of life to all poles. It is also represents strength, nourishment and endurity. Wieliczka identifies with their name it has survived and preserved the Polish heritage as we now have "our children’s children" enrolled in Wieliczka. Today Wieliczka continues to instill in their youth that special pride and knowledge of their Polish heritage together with its many beautiful costume and traditions. We hope to continue through song and dance to share the wealth of our heritage with all, for many more years. We are grateful to all the individuals who had the foresight to organize P.R.C.U.A. Schools and programs for our youth. We are proud to be members of the Polish Roman Union of America and are appreciative of their help in subsidizing our school. We are proud of all of our many accomplishments and countless contributions to the Polonia Community. |
